Motor vehicle record (MVR)

At Checkr Trust, we offer a motor vehicle record check, currently only available for car rental use cases. This check provides anoverview of an individual's driving history, including traffic violations, license suspensions, revocations, accidents, and other important data.
Note: Please be aware that we are currently unable to run MVR checks in Washington state due to legal restrictions.
Process:
To initiate a motor vehicle record check, you will need to make a call to the Checkr Trust APIs, initiating this type of check from the dashboard is not currently supported.
When making the API call to initiate a motor vehicle record check, you will need to provide the candidate’s first and last name, date of birth, drivers license number and the state the license was issued in. If the candidate’s middle name is available it is helpful information to pass.
Reviewing the results
The results of a motor vehicle record check are sent to the webhook that you enabled during your implementation of Checkr Trust. You can also review the results in the search history section of the dashboard.
Fee Structure:
All state DMV’s charge a fee in order to access an individual’s motor vehicle report. These fees are charged per check in addition to the per check price that is listed in your contract. The table below shows the breakdown of fees per state:

FAQs
Q: Does Checkr Trust support running motor vehicle record checks on commercial drivers licenses?
A: Currently, we can only check passenger license types. Commercial licenses (CDLs) are not supported. If you have a need to screen commercial license types, please contact us at support@checkrtrust.com or submit a ticket through the Help Center to discuss your options.
